Rotman School Associate Dean Honoured by Executive MBA Council.

Toronto – The associate dean of executive degree programs at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management has been honoured for her contributions to the Executive MBA industry.

Prof. Beatrix Dart, who is also the academic director for the One-Year Executive MBA and the Omnium Global Executive MBA programs at the Rotman School, received the 2012 Bud Fackler Service Award from the Executive MBA Council at their annual conference held in Paris last week.

The prestigious Bud Fackler Service Award recognizes contributions to the Executive MBA Council and to Executive MBA programs worldwide, including efforts to help other programs, to share best practices, and to raise the quality of Executive MBA Programs. The council named the award after Bud Fackler, the late director of the Executive MBA Program at the University of Chicago and one of the council’s founders.

Dart served on the Executive MBA Council board for four years and chaired the 2007 Executive MBA Council Conference in Toronto. Committed to advancing women in management, she is also the executive director for the Rotman Initiative for Women in Business, advancing women in management and working with other groups to understand and remove barriers for women as they move their business careers forward. Dart also is a regular presenter at conferences and panels and frequent contributor to newspapers, radio, and television. She is a current board member of EllisDon, one of Canada’s largest construction companies, and a former board member of Branksome Hall, an independent school in Toronto, as well as a member of the Rogers Women Network Advisory Board.

She joined the Rotman School of Management in 2000 after a consulting career with McKinsey & Company. Dart received her Ph.D. in statistics and economics and her master’s degrees in economics and information science from the University of Konstanz.

The Executive MBA Council provides a place for programs to share best practices and gathers industry data. Currently the council includes more than 200 educational institutions that administer 300 plus Executive MBA Programs worldwide. For additional information, visit www.embac.org.
