Faculty Research at University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management Honoured with Awards.

Toronto – Two research papers co-authored by faculty members at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management have been recognized with awards.
 
“Advance Payment Systems: Paying Too Much Today and Being Satisfied Tomorrow,” co-authored by Prof. Nina Mažar, was selected by the jury as one of the two winners of the Best Paper Award of International Journal of Research in Marketing Special Issue on Marketing and Innovation. The award was presented on May 28 during the annual conference of the European Marketing Academy. It was awarded on behalf of The Erasmus Center for Marketing of Innovations of Erasmus University, the American Marketing Association and the European Marketing Academy. Mažar, an associate professor of marketing, wrote the paper with colleagues from WHU — Otto Beisheim School of Management and Goethe University Frankfurt.
 
A second paper co-authored by Prof. Heski Bar-Isaac and a colleague from the University of California, Los Angeles has received the Jerry S. Cohen Memorial Fund Writing Award for antitrust scholarship. The award committee of the American Antitrust Institute reviewed over 300 works in antitrust published in 2014 and selected "Raising Retailers’ Profits: On Vertical Practices and the Exclusion of Rivals,” published in The American Economic Review, as the best economics article of 2014. The award will be presented at the Institute’s annual conference on June 18.
