Rotman Adjunct Professor Named to the Order of Canada.

Toronto – An adjunct professor at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management has been named as a member of the Order of Canada. Don Tapscott was named for his leadership in the field of business innovation, notably for his research on the economic and social impact of information technology. The honour was announced on June 30 by the office of the Governor General of Canada.
 
Tapscott is currently the founder and chairman of the Global Solutions Network at the Rotman School’s Martin Prosperity Institute, where he was the inaugural fellow, and is also a Senior Adviser to the World Economic Forum, and the Chancellor of Trent University. He is a best-selling author of 15 books, including the recently released The Digital Economy Anniversary Edition: Rethinking Promise and Peril in the Age of Networked Intelligence.
 
The Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest civilian honours, was established in 1967, during Canada’s centennial year, to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. Over the last 45 years, more than 6,000 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order.
