Manulife Financial Chair in Financial Services Appointed at University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

Toronto – An expert in corporate governance and finance has been recognized for his achievements in teaching and research with a new appointment as the Manulife Financial Chair in Financial Services at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

Alexander Dyck is a professor of finance and business economics who has been at the Rotman School since 2004. He is an Academic Director of the Director’s Education Program, jointly developed by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and the Rotman School, a board member of the Rotman International Center for Pension Management, and a Fellow at the Michael Lee-Chin Family Institute for Corporate Citizenship at the Rotman School. Previously he held the Professorship in Corporate Governance.

Prof. Dyck teaches popular PhD and MBA courses in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and private equity. His research interests include corporate governance, corporate finance, corporate social responsibility, regulation and privatization, the media and financial markets, and taxation. Earlier in the year, he was the co-winner of the 2015 Roger Martin Award for Excellence in Teaching, awarded annually to recognize distinction in teaching by faculty members.
