Toronto, June 22, 2011 - For the seventh year, a new team of MBA students from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management who are ready to “link business minds with social missions” have started work at Rotman NeXus.
Rotman NeXus offers consulting services to non-profit organizations with the goal of maximizing an organizations’ social impact. With a record of achieving innovative and practical results, NeXus consultants use business education to support the vision of the non-profit sector. Consulting services are offered to non-profits and social enterprises at affordable rates and support a broad range of business needs at all the different stages in the non-profit lifecycle.
The Rotman NeXus team is comprised of four students who have completed the first of two years’ study in the MBA program at the Rotman School. The team is not only dedicated to making a positive impact in non-profit organizations and communities; they are also supported by an extensive network of expert mentors including some of the Rotman School’s world-renowned faculty. Each project team is matched with experienced professionals who provide guidance and knowledge of best practices. In this way, Rotman NeXus clients also benefit from the insight of experienced non-profit, academic and business leaders.
“[I was] distinctly impressed by the team’s professionalism, reliability, intelligence, capability, talent and support network. Having now worked with three iterations of NeXus consultants, I am very happy to say that I have never once felt that those standards haven’t always been consistently high.” Says Mahadeo Sukhai, President of The National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS).

“What really excited me about the opportunity to work with Rotman NeXus was that I was able to apply my skills from the MBA program and make a positive impact on my community. Before starting with Rotman NeXus, I was solely focused on what I could do for non for profits within the community. After working with NeXus and having the opportunity to meet with a variety of organizations, it turns out that it has been quite the opposite and they have done so much for me! The passion that they have for their organizations is infectious and has really inspired us all,” says Rikki Bennie, MBA’12.
The other Rotman NeXus team members for 2011/12 are Madison Diamond, Krishna Donepudi and Elaine Zhang.
