Application Requirements and Process

Applicants to the program must be students in fourth year in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (all programs), who desire to apply to enter the Skoll Program (Engineering/MBA Program).

All entrance documents (including the GMAT results), should be submitted by February 1 for consideration for the Skoll Foundation Awards. Please note that candidates can apply at any point in the year prior to entering the MBA Program and it is not necessary to wait for the deadline. Applications will be reviewed and decisions issued throughout the year with confirmation of scholarship amounts after the February 1 deadline.

How to Apply

Applicants to the Skoll Program are asked to submit an online application through the Rotman School of Management. For questions and guidance about the Skoll Program, please contact Rotman Admissions

Summary of Admission Requirements

Strong Academic Performance

A minimum of a B+ (77%) average is required in each of the four most recent Engineering terms prior to application. (If you have one term slightly below 77% and all your other entrance parameters are golden, you should still apply). You need not provide your own transcripts, but you must include your student number with your application so your transcripts can be provided by ROSI.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)

Students must write the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) . This exam is used by all business schools in North America (and much of the rest of the world as well). Note that all components of the GMAT score are important: "quantitative," "verbal," and "writing."

It is emphasized that the GMAT exam is the long-lead-time item in this application. As such, it should be written as soon as possible, preferably in the summer between Year II and Year III, or during a PEY (if any) after Year III. Most students find that some significant preparation for this test is advisable. See the GMAT Website:  www.gmac.org

Although part of the GMAT score is available almost immediately upon writing, the AWA (Analytical Writing Assessment) component is mailed to the applicant (and to the University) some two weeks after the test. A strong GMAT score, consistent with the scores of MBA students accepted by the Rotman school, will be required. Although GMAT scores vary somewhat from year to year, a minimum score of 650 should provide a useful target for Skoll students.

IMPORTANT: 'University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management' (Code BTDKS98) should be selected as the U of T destination for your GMAT results.
