As a School, Rotman is well connected to the business community in Toronto, across Canada, and around the globe.

These connections help us host over 100 speaker events and conferences per year on campus on a range of topics. These connections are involved in world-leading research conducted across the School by our faculty and research centres. They are also involved in supporting our educational activities.

For students on the Rotman MMA program, the Master of Management Analytics Advisory Board is a key source of industry contact. There are a number of ways in which the Advisory Board support the program. Some examples of this support are below:

Ensuring graduates from the program have the skills the industry needs

• Regular meetings with Rotman Faculty ensure that courses are covering the key areas in a way that can be applied to real-life situations that are encountered in the work place. They provide insight on industry trends and employer needs.

Practicum

• A key component of the Rotman MMA program is the practicum. Advisory Board members work with faculty to ensure projects give a meaningful learning experience to students.

Offering an insight into different industries

• How do analytics roles and challenges vary from organization to organization, and industry to industry? Events during the program will provide opportunities to engage with Advisory Board members who can talk about their particular experiences, along with what they see for the future of the profession.

Providing employment opportunities

• Advisory Board members receive copies of the class resume book, which they use to identify talented students who may be a good fit for their organization upon graduation. They work with our careers services team so that we are able to help with the application and interview process in a tailored way to the analytics profession. They are champions of the program by creating awareness and showcasing both University and student achievements.
