The Global EMBA program offered everything I was looking for in an MBA program: diversity, top talent and global exposure with a proven leadership focus.

Over 18 months, the Rotman-SDA Bocconi Global EMBA program will take students to 7 dynamic cities around the world. The program aims to transform the way students think, network and do business internationally in order to make global impact.

Leadership development on a personal and global scale

Learning to embrace ambiguity, seeing and exploring different perspectives, having fantastic support from classmates and faculty along the way, all while exploring the world and its diversity – that’s the highlight of her journey at the Rotman School of Management, mused Karina Cheplinger, Senior Manager, Global Banking Operations at Scotiabank and Global EMBA graduate.

“The Global EMBA program offered everything I was looking for in an MBA program: diversity, top talent and global exposure with a proven leadership focus,” she added.

Renaud Jacquemart, Director, Strategy & Business Development, BioVectra and Global EMBA graduate concurs, “The program was a game changer in my life. The level of introspection required to progress through the program and its personal leadership development component was all I needed to gain confidence in my capacities and realize my full potential. The immersion in businesses all around the world provided me with assurance that I can be successful in leadership roles in any industry.”

“The highlight of my Rotman experience was working on a joint-course practicum on sustainability and corporate strategy — and presenting recommendations for global expansion to a local business during an overseas module,” notes James Rutherford, Associate at DIALOG and Global EMBA graduate.

A world of opportunity

The opportunities that come about because of the leadership and new ways of thinking learned from an MBA – a Global EMBA at that – are countless.

“The personal leadership development and entrepreneurship courses with a focus on sustainability and strategy are my top reasons for choosing the program at Rotman. Soft skills are a focus, which is a big difference with other programs. I can now hire finance, accounting, marketing specialists anytime because I can speak their language without needing to be an expert. But more importantly, I can lead them, and this is a precious gift.

“Additionally, with the skills and connections I’ve made in the program, I started a consulting group with the goal of helping biotech startups be more successful by providing them with solutions for their early stage strategy, financing and business needs, “ says Renaud.

Arta Beikzadeh, Founder and Director, Sustainable Assurance Solutions in Sydney, Australia and Global EMBA graduate had some final reflections, “I had many personal challenges during the course of the program, but I can truly say that choosing the Global EMBA program was one of the best decisions that I made in my life.

“With the skills and focus gained from this journey, I established my own business to provide corporate social responsibility consulting, auditing and training services. With signed contracts with four big companies already, I am excited for the many opportunities that are opening up.”
