The Rotman Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) was founded in 2003 with the goal of providing students, faculty, staff and alumni with information about GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered) issues, especially those pertaining to the business community. It was established as an alliance between gay and straight members of the Rotman community because we believe that everyone benefits from an open dialogue and has the power to effect positive change within organizations.
The GLBT community represents a unique dimension of Rotman. The GSA seeks to represent this diversity and provide access to relevant information, resources and networking opportunities – both within Toronto and around the world.

Out on Bay Street is an exciting event that will serve two purposes. First, we have organized a number of successful individuals to educate the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) business leaders of the future. The event will also provide gay positive organizations with a venue to meet with and talk to students that are looking for open and accepting organizations in which to build their careers, all under one roof. There will also be many opportunities to meet and interact with other bright, talented, and motivated LGBT students from across Canada, so bring plenty of business cards!
The Conference will be held in Toronto, Ontario. It will be hosted by the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) at the Joseph L Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto. The organizing team also includes students from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
The name Out on Bay Street highlights Toronto’s Bay Street as the symbolic focal point of business in Canada and how the gay and lesbian community is working towards reshaping the way businesses operate in the marketplace by promoting change and openness.
We look forward to seeing you there!
