SYNOPSIS: Canada is a prosperous, peaceful and diverse country, globally respected and in many ways the envy of the world. But continued economic prosperity in the years ahead could be undermined as the traditional sources of prosperity shift from natural resources towards technology and innovation. Bold new policies are needed to drive the shift towards technological proficiency, ones that are digitally driven, innovation-based and sustainable. Four areas of policy change are essential: people, materials, capital and consumer markets and tools. Innovations in each area will support Canadians to maximize our potential in the next half century and to remain great at 200.
