Bio

Major Kelsey Barnes is an Infantry Officer with the Royal Canadian Regiment and is presently a mentor and instructor of strategy at the Canadian Forces College. Major Barnes recently completed an assignment in Guatemala teaching joint strategy to Guatemalan Special Forces and military leadership in their national operations centre. 

Previously Kelsey has served as the Director of Transformation for the Army of Ontario (4th Canadian Division) and as Chief of Operations of the Canadian Army Advanced Warfare Centre, where Canadian paratroopers are born and bred. For his accomplishments overseas Kelsey was awarded the United States Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) for his leadership while serving with the Multinational Force and Observers, Sinai Desert, Egypt.

Major Barnes earned an MBA from the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto, and the Canadian Army Command and Staff College where he graduated with the commonwealth designation "plsc" for thought leadership in design and strategy.

Kelsey's experience and professionalism as a combat arms strategist and operator applies to solving todays most wicked problems; where failure can cost lives. While undergoing his MBA, Kelsey developed a unique ability in bridging military processes and terminology into a problem solving tools that industry can benefit from.
