Bio

Cathy Williams, an (honorary) LL.D recipient from the University of Western Ontario and MBA from Queen's University, retired as Chief Financial Officer of Shell Canada Limited in June 2007. She worked for Shell for 22 years, in a variety of financial roles, including two assignments in London, England with Shell International. Previously Cathy worked for The Federal Business Development Bank in Ottawa, The Bank of Canada in Ottawa and Toronto, and Nova Corporation in Calgary.

Cathy has been a Director of Enbridge Inc since 2007. She chairs the Human Resources and Compensation Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Safety & Reliability Committee. She joined the Board of Vermilion Energy Inc. in February 2015 and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Governance& HR Committee. She was formerly a Director ofAlberta Investment Management Corp where she chaired the Audit Committee as well formerly a Director of Tim Hortons Ltd. She was a member of the Federal Government's Advisory Panel on Canada's System of International Taxation in 2008.

Cathy is currently Vice Chair and a member of the Board of VCC (Vibrant Communities Calgary). Cathy was co-chair of the Calgary Poverty Reduction Committee, sponsored by the City of Calgary and the United Way of Calgary from 2012-2014 and, was Chair of the Board of Governors of Mount Royal University from November 2007 – 2010. Other community involvement has included membership on the Boards of Directors of Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta and the United Way of Calgary, both of which she chaired and member of the Advisory Board of the Dean of the Business School at Queen's University. Cathy was named to the WXN Hall of Fame in 2008.

Cathy is married with three children.
