Terry Compton

Bio

Terry has worked for over 20 years as a curriculum designer, workshop facilitator and business communication coach to help internationally educated professionals successfully enter and excel in the Canadian workplace.

Terry draws on her professional experience in academic, community, corporate, and industrial settings to help newcomers improve their knowledge of and comfort in Canadian professional settings.  The information and guidance she offers about cross-cultural, linguistic and professional issues allows Business Edge participants to more effectively leverage their skills and expertise and secure positions which are both intellectually and financially rewarding.

In addition to having taught over 20 part-time courses at the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies, Terry has served as an examiner for language-proficiency tests such as IELTS, CanTEST and COPE.  Terry has designed and delivered in-house and other business communication and cross-cultural awareness programs in corporate, non-profit, university and community agency settings to participants from dozens of cultural, linguistic and professional backgrounds.
