TEACHING APPROACH

I teach by the case method, which is an experiential approach designed to provide students with an opportunity to imagine themselves in the shoes of decision-makers who are confronted with strategic problems. The goal is to make the learning process one of informed discovery for the students, who come to appreciate the nuances of a strategic situation through discussion with their classmates. I am wholly dedicated to this approach largely because it allows students to develop intuition and judgment regarding the kinds of issues that are important in effective decision-making. It capitalizes on student diversity of backgrounds and perspectives. On top of this, the case method makes learning more interesting and more fun.
