THE ROTMAN EXPANSION
Twelve years ago, the Rotman School set out to redesign business education with a curriculum based on Integrative Thinking™. Twelve years later, the School has implemented this continually-evolving curriculum, earning a global reputation as one of the world's most innovative business schools. Along the way, the School has grown substantially, doubling the size of most of its programs as well as the number of faculty, research institutes and staff.
These increases, along with additional planned growth, have caused the School to outgrow its original space at 105 St George Street in downtown Toronto. The result: construction of a new building adjacent to the original School, more than doubling its size, and in the meantime, the emergence of a Rotman Campus comprising six locations – all within walking distance of the main building.

Expected to open in 2012, the new structure will be fully integrated with the current building and will house new hi-tech classrooms, flexible study space, and a 400-seat event facility. The Expansion will also be home to the Desautels Centre for Integrative Thinking, the Martin Prosperity Institute and the School’s other prestigious research centres.
The new building is the centerpiece of an ambitious $120-million capital, research and education project to enhance the global competitiveness of Ontario and Canada. The initiative was kick-started in March 2007 when the Province of Ontario made a pledge of $50 million. An additional $10 million in federal funding has since been allocated and individuals such as Sandra and Joseph Rotman, Marcel Desautels and the Canadian Credit Management Foundation among others have made major gifts to the project.
