CORE COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
MACROECONOMICS (RSM 1211)
This course provides students with an understanding of aggregate output and cyclical patterns in GDP and national income as well as factors that determine employment, prices, interest rates and the exchange rate in Canada's open economy. An overriding objective of the course is to develop managerial perspectives on macroeconomic issues. The rate of economic growth, interest rates, the exchange rate, conditions in labour markets and capital markets, the conduct of fiscal and monetary policy - and especially changes in any of these - have implications for corporate profitability and risk. RSM 1211 provides the basis for understanding the inherent opportunities and underlying risks.
