The Area of OB/HRM at the Rotman School of Management aims to create a collegial environment in which faculty can pursue high-quality research in the fields of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management.
The OB/HRM Area teaches required courses such as Managing People in Organizations, Negotiation, and Leadership in the first-year MBA curriculum, and runs a series of popular electives in the second year of the MBA, including Advanced Negotiations & Conflict Management, Effective Leadership, Leading Teams, Management of Human Resources, Managing Diversity in Organizations, Managing Talent for Global Operations, Organization Design, Power & Influence in Organizations, and The Socially Intelligent Manager. The Area also delivers several courses in our PhD program and in the Rotman undergraduate commerce program.
Faculty research interests include employee affect, goal setting, decision making, leadership, employee selection and training, performance evaluation, sexual harassment, small groups and teams, gender and power dynamics at work, career development, business ethics, negotiations, trust and cooperation, cross-cultural management, occupational stress and safety, and knowledge management.
