Toronto – Three graduates of programs at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management are among the recipients of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 award. The award program identifies outstanding young achievers in Canadian business, visionaries and innovators changing the way things are done.  Three other graduates were named to the Digital Finance Institute list of Canada’s Top 50 Women in FinTech for 2019. The women on the list were selected based on their leadership, vision, and innovation, engagement and impact, in addition to their commitment to growing and supporting the FinTech community.

The Rotman School graduates who are recipients of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 award are: 

  • Narinder Dhami, BASc/MBA 2008, is the Managing Director of LEAP | Pecaut Centre for Social Impact, an innovator in venture philanthropy. LEAP drives impact by scaling breakthrough social ventures, unlocking talent across the private sector (with BCG, McCarthy Tétrault, H+K Strategies, Offord Group, EY and Google) and helping donors allocate capital most effectively.
  • Mo Lidsky, Morning MBA’11, is Chief Executive Officer at Prime Quadrant, an investment research and consulting firm. Prior to Prime Quadrant, he founded and led organizations in industries as diverse as education, auto restoration, non-profit and microfinance. Philanthropically, he is the current Chairman of CAF Canada and the Prime Quadrant Foundation, while also sitting on the boards of CJPAC, Hebrew University and Holland Bloorview Hospital.
  • Daniel Schlaepfer, BCom’03, is President and CEO of Select Vantage Inc (SVI), and its affiliates Select Vantage Canada Inc, Epic Vantage Inc and Elite Vantage Placement Ltd. SVI is a global leader in electronic market-making, employing over 2,700 staff in 39 countries. On any given day, the firm can trade upwards of US$3 billion on global stock market.

They will receive their awards at a special gala presentation on November 6 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto.

Canada's Top 40 Under 40® is an annual recognition of the exceptional achievements of 40 outstanding Canadians under the age of 40. Founded in 1995 by Caldwell, Top 40 has recognized more than 720 outstanding Canadians and is the country's most coveted award for young business and community leaders. Honourees have a remarkable track record of achievement after their win; the ranks of Top 40 alumni include hundreds of nationally and internationally prominent CEOs, CFOs, executives, and entrepreneurs.
 
The Rotman School graduates named to the top 50 women in FinTech for 2019 by the Digital Finance Institute, a think tank for thought leadership in FinTech, financial innovation and financial inclusion, are:

  • Linda Blair, MBA’03 is managing director at Deloitte where she leads marketplace activities, strategy and operations for the Ontario practice of Deloitte Canada. Blair successfully led Deloitte’s Toronto consulting practice before taking her current role.
  • Serena Chan, BCom’95, is a partner at IBM with extensive consulting experience in financial services transformation and strategy. At IBM, she grew the portfolio from 10 resources to more than 130, delivering complex programs and custom development for IBM. Before joining IBM, she was a management consultant at PwC.
  • Robyn Ross, MBA’13, is the Vice President of Operations at Wealthsimple and Chief Executive Officer of ShareOwner Investments, a Wealthsimple entity. She works on client experiences and scaling operations across the organization. Prior to Wealthsimple, she led the Canadian business at Tilt and worked in management consulting at Bain & Company.
