On Saturday, November 23, 2019, we welcomed hundreds of prospective students in person and online for the annual Rotman Open House for the Full-Time MBA program for a day packed with information sessions, sample classes led by some of our globally renowned faculty, and panel discussions with career advisors and current students.

Maja Djikic, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management and the Director of Self-Development Laboratory at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. She is a psychologist specializing in the field of personality development. Her work examines the effect of art on personality, and means of developing a congruent and flexible self. She has been a post-doctoral fellow with Desautels Centre for Integrative Thinking at Rotman School of Management, and Psychology Department at Harvard University. She has published more than 30 articles and book chapters in the area of personality development in journals such as Psychological Science, Journal of Research in Personality, Creativity Research Journal, New Ideas in Psychology, etc.  Her research has been featured in The New York Times, Salon, Slate, The Scientific American Mind, and many other media outlets.

Jan Mahrt-Smith
Associate Professor of Finance

Jan Mahrt-Smith is an Associate Professor of Finance at Rotman and teaches MBA, MFin, PhD, and Executive Education courses in Corporate Finance, M&A, and Behavioral Finance. He has won several of the highest teaching awards from the MBA students and the Dean. Jan has consulted with Citibank, Scotia, Corus Entertainment and others. He has published in the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, among others. Jan holds a PhD from M.I.T. (1998) and was on the faculty of the London Business School from 1998-2002.

Nouman Ashraf
Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, Rotman School of Management

Nouman Ashraf is Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream within the Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management area at the Rotman School of Management. He possesses a broad range of professional, academic and research interests, with a specialized focus on enabling innovative and inclusive practices within organization life. For the last decade and a half, he has held progressively senior roles at the University of Toronto. He is a recognized thought leader in governance, and has taught thousands of directors in the national Rotman program on Not for Profit Governance in partnership with the Institute for Corporate Directors since its inception in 2007.

Catherine Barrette
Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream

Graduate Degree in Public Accountancy

Catherine is an Assistant Professor of the Teaching Stream and she teaches courses on various topics in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Governance. Catherine is actively involved in the Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting and she also worked closely with CPA Canada over the years to develop content for their PEP programs and mark the professional exams.
