About Me: TingYu, GDipPA Class of 2022

Quick info:

  • Class of 2022
  • Previous education:
    • Bachelor of Commerce, University of Toronto

What surprised you most about your program experience?

I was surprised by how interactive the classes were conducted. Rather than just listening to lectures, we were able to ask questions, obtain answers, and have discussions with our fellow peers and professors about the cases we were analyzing. This interactive aspect really enhanced the engagement and quality of education provided throughout the program.

What part of the program did you find most challenging?

It was challenging to adapt in the beginning, both to the weekly deliverables and to the strict set schedules that we had to follow daily. Having to sit down and analyze cases, sometimes on a timed basis, were time-consuming and sometimes overwhelming to complete. The 3-hour class lengths were also longer than what I was used to in undergrad, making it hard sometimes to pay full attention to the entirety of the class. But once I fell into a routine and got familiar with how the program progressed, these challenges were easily mitigated.

What memory from Summer 2022 will you hold long after completing the program?

Definitely all the new friends that I made in my section. I enjoyed becoming friends with many people who finished their undergrad in other places, all with their own unique perspectives and experiences. These are friends who I will definitely keep in touch with long after this program is over.
