Why did you decide to study the Master of Financial Risk Management program?

I applied to the MFRM program as I was looking for ways to hone my technical skills in finance to be prepared for a career in the buy-side. Risk management is a crucial part of a good investment manager and it has been a missing piece from my prior education. I look for technical training in financial risks that can gear me up for success in the field.

What were your top reasons for choosing Rotman?

Reputation – Rotman is a globally renowned business school and has been known for its amazing faculty and extensive alumni network

Resources – As an MFRM student, you get access to all resources within Rotman, from databases to student clubs and career services. You know there is always something or someone within Rotman that can help you with every aspect of your academic & professional development.

What are you looking forward to most in the program? 

I look forward to the risk management project the most. I am very excited to apply the new knowledge & skills I have learned in the first half of the program to solve real-life problems in the workplace. It would be an amazing opportunity to discover more about the work culture here and network with industry professionals.

What do you expect to gain in your next 10 months at Rotman? 

I expect to have a holistic development in my quantitative and coding skills, people skills through working with students from other programs and closely with my classmates, professional network by leveraging our extensive alumni connections across industries in Canada.
