Here’s a peek at the make-up of our first MFRM class. Students come from a wide variety of academic backgrounds, ranging from business to the social sciences. It is also notable that over 40% are starting the program with some work experience. Students will be drawing on that experience, along with the knowledge gained through their undergraduate studies, to keep up with the intensive program curriculum.

While the core curriculum of the program provides students with the technical and analytical skills needed to master topics in risk management and trading, it is the out-of-classroom learning and networking opportunities that really make the MFRM unique.

[At Rotman], I have had the opportunity to meet many industry leaders, including Lisa Reikman, [Group head and Chief Risk Officer at TD Bank Group], and Richard Nesbitt, the CEO of GRI. This program has a very strong Advisory Board, which offers students strong connections to the risk management industry.

Through the industry sponsored Risk Management projects and a variety of speaker series, career workshops and company information sessions, students are able to further hone their skills in preparation for their future financial risk management careers.

The Master of Financial Risk Management is a full time program designed to prepare ambitious young professionals for careers in risk management and finance.
