Why did you decide to study the Master of Management Analytics program?

Analytics and data sciences is revolutionizing the way business is being conducted and decisions are being taken at an unprecedented pace. It’s only fair that the technology we use consistently evolves at the same pace to augment these capabilities. In this context, I understood early that it was more important for me to understand and develop my critical thinking, problem-solving and logical skills so that I could easily pick up evolving computational languages and technologies and hence, focused my studies on subjects that would hone such skills. As a Computer Science major, I know the building blocks, tools, languages, best practices, and environments of contemporary computing. Rotman’s MMA program will enhance my leadership, business and analytics acumen required to succeed as a global analytics leader, influencing change and driving growth for organizations through intelligent and effective business decisions.

What were your top reasons for choosing Rotman?

Master’s in management Analytics (MMA) from Rotman will enable my career progression in the field of analytics and will help me achieve my goal; to be a consultant. This kind of learning is one of its kind and I feel extremely lucky to have got admission in University of Toronto. And more importantly having studied from Canada leading business school will really add up to my profile. Earning a degree from Top 100 International Business School will make me a valuable asset to the multinational organization in India and Canada.

What are you looking forward to most in the program?

I am looking forward to mainly two courses i.e. Modelling Tools for Predictive Analytics and Management Analytics Practicum. While predictive analytics focuses on understanding of the predictive models so that the results can be used in effective decision making. It will also cover machine learning techniques which is nowadays a buzz word in the industry. The Management Analytics Practicum will give us real hands on experience in the field of analytics. Real world business problems will be thrown at us by different industries and we will have to use the modelling skills to provide insights and answers to these questions. There will be presentations to showcase our results and deploy these models to solve business problems.
