Library Service Update Fall 2021

Please note these plans are subject to change and updates will be posted on this page. As of September 7, 2021, the MHL services will be available as outlined below. 

The Rotman building will be fob access only in September, therefore only Rotman graduate students, staff and faculty will have access. During this time, the MHL will remain closed and will not be available as a study space; the majority of our services will be available virtually.

Fob holders may book appointments for the following:

  1. Borrowing books, including course reserves
  2. Using the photocopier, printer, or scanner
  3. Using Bloomberg/SDC/Venture Capital

Our computers will not be available for any use outside of the above-mentioned software or printing. No browsing, e-mail, or other research.

You must send an appointment request at least 3 hours in advance.  They are available between 9:00- 5:00 (last appointment time at 4:30, closure time at 5), Monday – Friday. Contact bicstaff@rotman.utoronto.ca for an appointment. 

If you are a Rotman Commerce student or a U of T student in another program and need to borrow material, please e-mail us and we will make arrangements (similar to curbside pickup, details TBD).  A reminder to faculty that course reserves for Rotman Commerce should be at Robarts library.

If you would like to book a research appointment with a librarian, please contact Holly Inglis or Sean Forbes. Include your research topic, where you have searched, preferred meeting times, and if you prefer to meet via Teams or Zoom.

Safety measures:

Plexi glass will be installed around the reference desk to help with distancing; there are capacity limits that will be adhered to during appointment times. The seating in the library area is blocked off and can not be used.
