Our lab promotes cutting-edge analytic tools in business through teaching and research, and is a central source of knowledge and expertise in data science, AI, and machine learning applications.
The TD Management Data and Analytics Lab is an essential teaching and research facility at the Rotman School, allowing scholars and practitioners to solve complex business challenges through the latest tools in machine learning and big data.
We do this through:
The lab offers computational resources, grants, and other support for scholarship in data science, AI, and machine learning.
We host workshops for staff and students in degree programs to promote the use and understanding of advanced analytics.
Through events, workshops and other gatherings, the lab is a hub of collaboration and knowledge sharing for researchers, students and industry.
Drawing on data from both private and public sources for research and classroom activities, the Lab is an invaluable resource to students and researchers at Rotman, as well as to members of the broader academic and business communities.
The TD Management Data and Analytics Lab (TD MDAL) is partially funded by private donations from corporations and individuals that wish to support the centre’s mission. However, we do not conduct any commercial activities that may pose potential conflicts of interest.
All funds received are administered by the University and acts as a safeguard to ensure that funds are spent responsibly, and in accordance with any terms and conditions attached. Every effort is made to uphold the University’s reputation for fairness, integrity and honesty; most importantly, the entitlement of students and employees to equitable treatment. The University also expects of its members the highest standards of ethical conduct in every aspect of research, in accordance with the University’s Policy on Ethical Conduct in Research. When publishing the finding of research, the University Policy on Conflict of Interest – Academic Staff requires faculty members to disclose the source of funding in the publication unless the faculty member has obtained approval to do otherwise.
