Funding opportunities

TD MDAL offers faculty, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students opportunities to secure funding for research, higher education, and events related to data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

TD MDAL Research Grant

This funding helps support research conducted by faculty and graduate students; awards are granted on an annual basis up to $10,000 per project. Topics using frontier methods in data analytics, machine learning, or text mining as applied to a variety of business problems are welcome.

Academic Scholarships

Through the Master of Management Analytics program office at the Rotman School of Management, the lab initiated a scholarship specific to the MMA program that helps support two graduate students.

Student Initiatives

Graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to submit proposals for funding up to $5,000 for events such as datathons, hackathons, speaker series and other event formats that have a focus on data analytics, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence.

Data Science Institute funding opportunities

The Data Science Institute is a university-wide initiative to integrate data sciences across disciplines to address pressing societal questions and drive positive social change. The lab helps support their initiatives through funding and our Academic Director, Ryan Webb, sits on the Advisory Board.
