Bio

Andrea Down is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Department of Management at UTSC, with a cross-appointment to the Accounting Area at the Rotman School of Management. Her research examines the provision, acquisition, and utilization of private information in disclosure and debt contracting settings. She is also interested in the role of technology in the capital markets. Andrea's research is published in leading journals, such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics and the Review of Accounting Studies.  Prior to pursuing a career in academia, she worked as a Senior Accountant at KPMG LLP, where she earned her CPA, CA designation.
