Dr. Angele Beausoleil gave the keynote address at the Sunnybrook Innovation Expo, describing how innovation truly happens, and how healthcare organizations can create the conditions and environments where human-centred innovation can thrive.
Human-Centred Design (HCD) inserts the human perspective of patients and stakeholders into all steps of problem-solving, strategic implementation, and innovation processes. The interactive talk introduced HCD, and how it can be integrated into everyday, team-based digital transformation projects, and larger healthcare innovation initiatives. The presentation featured techniques from Rotman’s Business Design methodology, which is an HCD approach to navigating the challenging innovation journey through this digital era.
