SESSION SYNOPSIS: Nearly 40 years on from Dolores Hayden’s famous envisioning of a feminist city in her 1980 article “What Would a Non-Sexist City Be Like?”, the city remains deeply inequitable. This event will gather esteemed local urbanists, activists, and writers to engage in a moderated discussion on access and gender equity in the city. The conversation will explore public policy, decision-making processes, community engagement, and the urban built form, and discuss potential paths forward to creating a more inclusive city. The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A.

SERIES HOST: Institute for Gender + the Economy at Rotman
SESSION CO-HOST: School of Cities, University of Toronto

QUESTIONS:, Megan Murphy (416) 978-6122
