The first year in a new role or organization is one of the most challenging steps in your career. Expectations to produce results and secure early wins combine to create a high-pressure, high-stress environment.
The New Leader Integration program, designed jointly by the Rotman School of Management and integrated leadership advisory firm Odgers Berndtson, prepares new executives for success during their first year by accelerating their impact through mastering team and organizational dynamics, building strong relationships with peers and team members, and ably navigating challenges and change from day one.
With the help of industry-experts and insights from one of the world's top executive search firms, you'll be equipped to:
- Quickly identify key issues and opportunities
- Make meaningful contributions to the organization faster
- Create an inspiring and impactful agenda for your first year
What You'll Learn
Each member of the class will receive one-on-one coaching to develop their roadmap to success. Participants will also complete an EQI self-assessment debrief, completed in advance, which gives participants the opportunity to not only learn from their own results but also compare their results with those of their peers.
You'll gain exposure to a diverse group of peers, drawing on each other’s perspectives and experiences and building a network you can leverage as you grow into this and future roles, as well as participate in panels and sessions led by some of the country’s top executive development experts from both industry and academia.
By the end of the program, you will know how to:
- establish networks of information and communication
- decode and shape your organization's culture
- create a shared purpose and commitment with a new team
- leverage diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Ensure Your Future Success
Today’s new leaders face a much more complex environment than even just a few years ago, from virtual environments, to unprecedented levels of stress, burnout, and mental health issues that make it very difficult for a new executive to assess the true potential of their team.
Today’s businesses also face heightened expectations around social and environmental responsibility, issues that new leaders have often had only limited visibility to in their previous roles. The business environment continues to operate at a much faster pace and with greater complexity than ever before. New executives are expected to make a visible impact within the first three months in their roles.
These issues combine into a perfect storm that make “getting it right” in the first year critical, which has created a strong need for accelerated executive leadership training and development opportunities.
In addition to state of the art leadership frameworks, unparalleled learning environments and access to an unbeatable network of accomplished peers from around the world, Rotman Executive Programs participants receive additional benefits and discounts, including a Certificate of Professional Achievement.
