Bio

Jee-Eun Shin is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on the design of management control systems to maximize organizational objectives by effectively taking into account incentives from various stakeholders including shareholders, managers, employees, and regulatory bodies. Her work examines management practices that can alleviate agency problems among stakeholders, especially in environments when formal contracting mechanisms are difficult to establish. For her research, she actively engages in dialogues with practitioners for collaboration on projects that can bridge the gap between academic research and developments in the industry.
