COVID-19 FAQs for applicants
Latest update: October 26, 2021
We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will update our communication and notifications as needed. You should continue to monitor your email and these FAQs regularly for any important updates.
If you are thinking of applying
We are currently accepting applications for all working professional MBA programs to start in fall 2022. Here are some responses to questions you may have about starting next year.
The GMAT/GRE/IELTS/TOEFL is required for my application but the test centre is closed. How will this impact my application?
If a GMAT/GRE/IELTS/TOEFL test is required for your application, we recommend that you submit your application without a GMAT/GRE/IELTS/TOEFL test score and submit the score to us as soon as you take the test. We will continue to monitor developments and inform you if there are additional updates to program deadlines.
For more information on GMAT testing information please refer to the GMAC website.
For EMBA, GEMBA and GEMBA-HLS candidates: I am required to take the Executive Diagnostic Test (EDT) as part of my application; can I attend tutorials and write the test online?
In an effort to keep everyone safe and to continue providing candidates with the support to prepare for the Executive Diagnostic Test, we have changed the delivery method of the EDT tutorials to an online format.
Through our virtual test centre, we offer remote EDT testing from the comfort of your home. For more information about the tutorials and the EDT exam please contact your admissions team at emba@rotman.utoronto.ca, gemba@rotman@utoronto.ca or gemba-hls@rotman.utoronto.ca.
Will my offer of admission be affected by the current situation?
We understand that the introduction of measures in response to the current situation has impacted students from many regions. At present, we do not anticipate that this will prevent students from enrolling at U of T in the fall. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will update our communication and notifications as needed. You should continue to monitor your email and these FAQs regularly for any important updates.
For programs with global modules, are there any changes to the schedule or module locations?
We anticipate no changes to the schedule or module locations for our fall 2022 Global Executive MBA for Healthcare and the Life Sciences and Rotman-SDA Bocconi Global Executive MBA cohorts. Rotman and the University of Toronto continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will be in touch should this change in the future. If you require a special accommodation due to travel restrictions and/or personal health considerations, please contact our admissions team at GEMBA-HLS@rotman.utoronto.ca or GEMBA@rotman.utoronto.ca.
With visa application centres being shut down, it may take me longer to get my visa.
Given these unforeseen circumstances, we understand there may be visa delays. We will continue to monitor developments and update you as appropriate. Please continue monitoring the updates provided by Immigration and Citizenship Canada.
I’m an international student. Will I be able to enter Canada?
