Not-For-Profit Board Diversity & Inclusion: Is It Essentially Window-Dressing?

Last year, our Manager Matt Fullbrook and former CEO of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Robin Cardozo, spoke to a spectrum of leaders from Canada’s black, indigenous and other communities of colour on whether current efforts to recruit for demographic diversity on Not-For-Profit boards are making a difference and what advice they had to offer organizations on their unique journeys to inclusion.

In our latest paper, the authors argue that current efforts to diversify the boardroom are likely to fail unless there is a parallel commitment to inclusion. The paper also offers guidance to boards on how they can become more deliberate in including new perspectives, new cultures and new expectations.
