The CIO Executive Leadership Program, delivered by the Rotman School of Management in partnership with CIOCAN, is the first and most important step in obtaining your official CIO.D and in developing the skills and experience to reinforce your role as a strategic Senior IT Leader and CIO.

The CIO Executive Leadership Program will help you gain the skills to greater contribute to your organization’s strategic planning and success, as well as position yourself as a meaningful member of the senior leadership team. By the end of this program you will also:
- Gain the skills for you to successfully become a business advocate and board advisor for all things technology
- Understand business financial statements/budgets and the bottom-line impact of IT
- Understand vendor/contract management skills
- Understand GRC for your business
- Have the ability to target delivery excellence and identify digital transformation areas
- Develop modern approaches to talent management, DEI, and just as importantly: building your own brand
- Make connections with thought leaders, executives in residence and high performing peers

How to earn the CIO.D
- 3 years of verifiable experience in an IT leadership role provided
- Attended and successfully completed Rotman – CIOCAN CIO Executive Leadership Program
- Pass the CIOCAN designation exam
- To obtain and maintain the official CIO designation CIO.D, you must be a member in good-standing with the CIO Association of Canada. To learn more visit CIOCAN.ca.

Technical Requirements
This program will be delivered over Zoom and requires access to this platform. Terms and conditions for Zoom usage can be found here: https://zoom.us/terms. This program requires a stable internet connection, the latest version of the Google Chrome internet browser, and use of a microphone. Access to a webcam is preferred but optional.

Each application is reviewed by Rotman's admissions committee to ensure participants have the appropriate academic and work experience.
Participant Notification Process
If space is available and eligibility requirements are met, participants will receive a notice of admission within 10 days of receipt of a completed application and fee deposit.
Payment
Payments can be made online. Applicants will be redirected to a secure online payment website after completion of the application form. A deposit of 50% of the program fee up to $4,000 is required at time of application. The balance of the program fee is due 30 days after receipt of invoice or 30 days before the start of the program, whichever is first. Deposits will be refunded to applicants not accepted to the program.
