Full MBA Scholarship Awarded at Rotman Problem Solving Challenge.

March 31, 2015

Toronto – A candidate entering into the Full Time MBA program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management has won a full tuition scholarship for the program by winning the third annual Rotman Problem Solving Challenge.

Massimo Bozzo won the first prize worth $90,000 in the multi-round competition which asked participants to address the challenges and opportunities for wearable technology in the education sector.  Currently working for a financial services firm in Toronto, Bozzo plans to begin his studies this fall.

The annual Challenge provides an opportunity for prospective and incoming students in the Rotman Full Time MBA program to solve a real-world unstructured problem using the School’s model-based approach to problem solving. The top participants in the first two rounds of the competition were invited to compete in a final weekend at the Rotman School on March 27 and 28.

“We were extremely pleased by the calibre and creativity of the participants during this final weekend portion of the challenge,” says Leigh Gauthier, Acting Director, Recruitment & Admissions, Rotman Full Time MBA. “In additional to our winner, we were thrilled to award additional partial scholarships based on individual and team performance.”

Participating judges included Rotman alumni from McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, A.T. Kearney, RBC, Accenture, Bain & Company and Secor KPMG.

Serving as judges for the final were Matthew Bailey, Co-founder, Thalmic Labs; Ali Nawab, Founder and CEO, Kiwi Wearable Technologies; and Kevin Frey, managing director of the Rotman Full Time MBA program.
