Over the past 12 years, Rotman has studied and educated credit union boards across North America. Over that time, we have generated some very interesting insights, in partnership with the Filene Research Institute:

Good governance and good performance do not always go hand in hand
Many of the arguments against compensating credit union boards aren’t as convincing as they seem
Despite some uptake of formal renewal processes, there is still much work to do
Credit union boards recruit based on what they know, but not always on what matters in the boardroom

Meanwhile, Rotman has hosted the CUES Governance Leadership Institute since 2007, in which the Johnston Centre’s Matt Fullbrook has taught since the beginning.
