New Faculty Appointed at UofT’s Rotman School of Management.

Toronto –The University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management continues to build on its reputation for faculty excellence in teaching and research with new appointments for the 2013/14 academic year. 

“This year’s appointments all have very strong teaching and research records and are joining us from some of the top universities in the world,” says Joel Baum, professor of strategic management and associate dean, faculty, at the Rotman School.

Bing Han comes to the Rotman School as a professor of finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Recently he has been a visiting professor at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, Peking University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. His research and teaching interests include theoretical and empirical asset pricing, behaviour finance, risk management and real estate finance.

Mitchell Hoffman joins the Rotman School as an assistant professor of strategic management. Previously he was a post-doctoral associate at the Yale School of Management after completing a PhD at the University of California, Berkeley. His research and teaching interests include labour economics, behavioural economics, organizational economics and productivity.

Azarakhsh Malekian joins the Rotman School as an assistant professor of operations management. Previously she was a post-doctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park and her research and teaching interests include network economics, mechanism design and algorithmic game theory as well as optimization. 

Four faculty joining the Department of Management at either the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) or the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) will also be cross-appointed to the Rotman School.

Ruslan Goyenko will be an associate professor of finance at UTM.

Michael Hasler will be an assistant professor of finance at UTSC.

Matthew Osborne will be an assistant professor of marketing at UTM.

Dushyant Vyas will be an assistant professor at UTM.
