NeXus Consulting Group: Helping Non-Profit Organizations and Social Enterprises Maximize Their Social Impact.

June 19, 2014

Toronto – Since 2005 non-profit organizations and social enterprises who require management consulting services have reached out to a team of MBA students at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management to help them maximize their social impact.

NeXus offers affordable, fee-based consulting services to support a broad range of business needs at all the different stages in the non-profit lifecycle, including planning and start-up to increasing capacity and expansion.

The consultants, who are entering the second year of the Rotman Full Time MBA program, each bring a deep understanding of management and business practices, as well as their own experiences in the private and public sectors in Canada, and internationally, to the challenges facing their clients.

“At NeXus we are committed to supporting non-profits in their business needs by developing a deep understanding of their organization and the challenges they face” says partner Jane Park, who is joined this year on the NeXus team by Chelsea Omel and Jason Visscher.

Connected not only to the Rotman School’s world-renowned faculty, the consultants are also supported by mentors and a board of directors comprised of faculty and industry professionals who provide the best insights from the non-profit, business and academic worlds.  Research by Rotman faculty is ranked 9th in the world by the Financial Times.

“The 2014 NeXus team has a strong diverse background in the social economy as well as strong business skills. They bring their many talents to partner with clients to enhance their impact, “ notes Ann Armstrong, a NeXus board member and the Social Enterprise Initiative Director at the Rotman School.

Past NeXus clients include Alterna Savings, FoodShare and St. Andrew’s Church.
