NeXus Consulting Group: Helping Non-Profit Organizations and Social Enterprises Maximize Their Social Impact.

Toronto – Since 2005, non-profit organizations and social enterprises have reached out to a team of MBA students at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management to help maximize their social impact.

NeXus offers affordable, fee-based consulting services to support a broad range of business needs, including business planning and start-up, marketing, growth and expansion, development of long-term financial sustainability, identifying operational efficiencies and measuring social impact.

The consultants, who are entering the second year of the Rotman Full Time MBA program, each bring a deep understanding of management and business practices, as well as their own experiences in the private and public sectors in Canada, and internationally, to the challenges facing their clients.

“At NeXus we are committed to providing a holistic approach to multi-faceted challenges faced by non-profits and social enterprises. Our team is primed to support clients through the development of frameworks and toolkits in order to facilitate the creation of a sustainable business strategy” says NeXus principal Aakif Merchant, MBA’17, who is joined this year on the NeXus team by Anskar Fosse, MBA’17, Aqeela Nanji, MBA’17, and Rabia Sohaib, MBA’17.

The team is not only connected to the Rotman School’s world-renowned faculty, but also supported by mentors and a board of directors comprised of faculty and industry professionals who provide the best insights from the non-profit, business and academic worlds. Research by Rotman faculty is ranked 3rd  in the world by the Financial Times.

“NeXus has the best of what Rotman has to offer businesses seeking solutions that embody diversity, creativity, business design and socially and sustainably responsible management. This year’s NeXus team truly captures all of these values,” notes Richard Blundell, a NeXus Board Member and Executive in Residence – Business Sustainability at the Rotman School.
