Q&A with Jocelyn Milburn, GEMBA-HLS ‘20

What was the highlight of your Rotman Experience?

The highlight of my experience has definitely been connecting with classmates. It’s nice to see that we are all leaders in our own field and are driving and leading change in our respective industries. I have been able to connect with such wonderful people, both on a personal and professional level. Being able to progress through the program as a unified cohort has helped me in further developing those relations. 

What are some of your reasons for choosing Rotman?

I chose Rotman because of the top tier faculty and the networking opportunities. There are a lot of connections that we're able to develop from various site visits and guest speakers. The broader Rotman family of students, alumni, and faculty is also very strong. I really appreciate the cross-disciplinary explore and international perspectives that I gained through this program. 

We’re able to develop deep relationships with our peers, many of whom are already executives and leaders, and help each other succeed during the program and even after graduation.

Do you have any tips for prospective individuals interested in the GEMBA-HLS program?

My top tip is just to dive in. Come in with an open mind and a curious spirit; you will be amazed at how much you can learn about subjects you thought you knew. There are so many opportunities to evolve yourself and your leadership at Rotman, as well as your capacity and potential to learn. 

How has your experience been with Rotman career services? 

The career services resources provided through Rotman are fantastic. The amazing team is not only incredibly well credentialed, but also genuinely interested in getting to know each student and helped them discover and pursue their optimal career path.
