Back in 2002, Rotman began data collection for the first ever iteration of the Board Shareholder Confidence Index. Since then, the project has generated approximately 400 data points per year for each of the 250-odd issuers on the S&P/TSX Composite Index. As a result, the Johnston Centre is the home of Canada’s most unique and extensive corporate governance database, which we use to generate insights to guide boards as the governance landscape evolves.

Since 2004, Rotman has partnered with the Globe & Mail to produce the annual Board Games report, which is perhaps Canada’s most influential publication on corporate governance.

Check the Johnston Centre website every November for new editions of the Board Shareholder Confidence Index and Board Games.
