About Our Speakers:
Adam Hutton, Managing Director, DoctorCare
Adam has spent almost his entire career working with Primary Care physicians across Canada. Adam’s company, DoctorCare, uses proprietary software and systems to provide medical "Billing as a Service" to over 2,000 physicians across Canada. In November of 2020, DoctorCare was acquired by WELL Health Technologies, where Adam now leads WELL’s Billing and Backoffice Group under the DoctorCare brand.
Dr. Daniel Pepe, Primary Care Digital Co-Lead, Western Ontario Health Team
Dr. Pepe is a family physician who practices in London, Ontario and shares a practice with his partner and wife Dr. Lin-Pepe at the London Lambeth Medical Clinic. He has a full family practice and does surgical assisting as well as palliative care. When he is not practicing he is a course chair at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Primary Care Co-Chair for the Western Ontario Health Team Digital Working Group, OntarioMD Peer Leader and eHealth Centre of Excellence Clinical Advisor. When he isn’t working he spends time with his family and woodworking in his shop.
Christy Prada, VP Business Development, Maple
Christy Prada is Maple’s Vice President of Business Development. Christy leads Maple’s Direct-to-Employer sales team as well as partnerships / strategic business relationships with insurers, consultancies, brokers, and governments. As a key player in Canada’s digital health landscape, Maple is building a connected healthcare experience to power the future of healthcare: simple, connected, human. Christy’s passion for improving the healthcare system stems from her past work as a management consultant in KPMG’s healthcare strategy practice. Christy is a strategist with experience in lab and health system funding reform, commercial strategy and customer experience. She holds an MBA from Rotman at the University of Toronto.
Wayne Samuels, General Manager, Medicentres Canada
Wayne Samuels leads Medicentres, which manages primary and specialty care practices, as well as occupational health clinics, across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. Medicentres manages all the administrative aspects of operating a medical clinic (including billing, staffing, real estate, technology, etc.), which allows physicians the opportunity to focus exclusively on patient care, without any of the operational hassles. In December of 2020, Medicentres was acquired by ELNA Medical, forming the largest manager of medical clinics in Canada. ELNA is focused on leveraging advanced technology to improve health outcomes, increase access to care, and facilitate connectivity for patients and physicians throughout the healthcare system.
