A Program for Women Administrative Professionals

Leadership in Administration will provide you with immensely practical personal productivity strategies to help manage your priorities, time and energy in such a highly reactive role. Participants will complete a pre-program assessment on Emotional Intelligence to learn how EQ impacts your performance, practical approaches to time management and hone your interpersonal skills.

Administrative Professionals Program/ Organizational Administrators and Coordinators, Clerical Supervisors, Executive Assistants with 3+ years of work experience in an administrative role.

Personal assessment of key strengths and growth areas, and understanding of Emotional Intelligence as an essential skill for effective team and individual performance.

Navigate the real, challenging conversations that create anxiety with practical, relevant tools, strategies, and frameworks to improve conversation outcomes.

Productivity and
Performance Management

Prioritization, organization, and proactivity: these core professional administrative competencies are solution-oriented and key to managing commitments and delivering better results.

Influence

Understanding the social dynamics in daily interactions, and accessing the practical tools, approaches, and frameworks to influence at every professional level.

Who should attend

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Candidates for the Leadership in Administration Program are Executive and Administrative Assistants, Clerical Supervisors, and Project/Program Coordinators with 3+ years of work experience in an administrative role. We look for participants who are committed to continuous learning and development, who strive to enhance their organizational value with a strategic focus.

Note: A 50% deposit is required at the time of application.

APPLICANT SELECTION

Each application is reviewed by Rotman’s admissions committee to ensure suitability of participant.

PARTICIPANT NOTIFICATION

If space is available and eligibility requirements are met, participants will receive a notice of admission within 10 days of receipt of their completed application and fee deposit.

Fees and payment

PROGRAM FEE

$2,250*

This includes:

  • Tuition
  • All Program material
  • Completion certificate
  • Class-day meals (breakfast, lunch, and snacks)

*Program participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs.

PAYMENT

Deposits are required at the time of application (refundable only to applicants not accepted to the program). The balance of the program fee is due 30 days after receipt of invoice or 30 days before program start date, whichever is first. Payments can be made online. Applicants will be redirected to a secure online payment website after completion of the application form.

ALUMNI DISCOUNT

Rotman Initiative for Women in Business participants are eligible for a discount equivalent to 10% of the Program Fee.

TAX INFORMATION – EMPLOYMENT-RELATED TRAINING

If the program is employment-related training, Rotman must receive a letter from the employer confirming that the Program constitutes such training within the meaning of Canada Revenue Agency Interpretation Bulleting IT-470R. Generally, the Bulletin states that where the training is taken for the benefit of the employer, there is no taxable benefit to the employee.

If the tuition fee is paid by the employer, it is the employer’s responsibility to determine whether or not the fees paid on behalf of the individual is a taxable benefit and should be included on his/her T4 slip.

TAX INFORMATION – NON-EMPLOYMENT-RELATED TRAINING

If an employer has not sanctioned that the Program is being taken for employment reasons, any discounts are taxable benefits to the individual participant and should be included on the individual’s tax return.

Accreditation

The Leadership in Administration Program has been approved for 13 continuing professional development hours under Section A of the continuing Professional Development Log of the Human Resources Professionals Associations (HRPA™)
