Rotman Professor Named as a Fellow of the Regional Science Association International.

Toronto – A leading researcher and teacher of urban economics and real estate at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management has been elected a Fellow of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI) in recognition of his lifetime contributions to the scholarship of regional science.
 
William Strange is the Smart Centres Chair in Real Estate and a professor of business economics at the Rotman School where he joined the faculty in 2001. His research examines agglomeration, industry clusters, labor market pooling, skills, private government, real estate development and real estate investment. He was won numerous awards for his teaching of business economics and real estate courses in the Rotman School’s programs as well as for his research. He is currently Editor of Journal of Urban Economics (with Stuart Rosenthal), and he served in 2011 as President of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association.
 
The Regional Science Association International (RSAI), founded in 1954, is an international community of scholars interested in the regional impacts of national or global processes of economic and social change. The RSAI Fellows are elected in recognition of a proven and recognized research record in the field of Regional Science during a considerable part of the Fellow’s scientific career. Prof. Strange is one of two scholars from around the globe who have been selected for this honour this year. Further information on the RSAI is online at www.regionalscience.org.
