New Faculty in Economics, Finance, Operations Management and Marketing Appointed at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

Toronto – New faculty appointments in economics, finance, operations management, and marketing were announced by the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management today for the 2021-2022 academic year. The appointments support both teaching and research activities at the school.   

Julieta Caunedo is an assistant professor of economic policy & analysis. She holds a PhD in Economics from Washington University in St Louis.  Her research interests include macroeconomics and development, with emphasis on the impact of technology for productivity and the labour market.   

Ing-Haw Cheng  is an associate professor of finance and will also serve as the academic director of the Master of Financial Risk Management program at the Rotman School beginning on January 1, 2022. He holds a PhD in Economics from Princeton University. He researches how beliefs and incentives affect capital markets and the economy. Recent work includes studies of volatility and commodity derivatives markets, the impact of Covid-19 and the 2008 Great Financial Crisis on markets, and new and emerging topics in economics and finance.  

Arik Senderovich is an assistant professor of operations management & statistics and a Fellow at the TD Management and Analytics Lab. He holds a PhD in Information Systems Engineering from Technion-Israeli Institute of Technology. His research focuses on data analytics in business processes, with an emphasis on predictive and prescriptive analytics in complex systems with scarce resources.   

Three faculty members with appointments at the University of Toronto Scarborough or the University of Toronto Mississauga have received cross-appointments at the Rotman School.  

Aradhya Sood is an assistant professor of economic analysis & policy at the University of Toronto Scarborough. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota and her research has focused on studying historic factors and current policies associated with land, urban development, education and technology and their effects on growth and social and economic inequality.  In addition to her cross appointment, she is a Faculty Fellow at the Rotman School’s Centre for Real Estate and Urban Economics.    

Yoshio Nozawa is an assistant professor of finance at the University of Toronto Scarborough. He holds a PhD in finance and economics from the University of Chicago. He joins the University from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology where he was an assistant professor. His research interests include empirical asset pricing, in the area of credit risk pricing and other related financial assets. He has published in several journals including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial & Quantitative Analysis, and the American Economic Review.   

Hyesung Yoo is an assistant professor of marketing at the University of Toronto Mississauga & the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information, & Technology. She holds a PhD in Marketing from the Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests include Quantitative Marketing, Empirical Industrial Organization, Consumer Search, and Health Economics.
