Welcome to the upcoming speaker series listing. Each year, Rotman hosts about 100 public talks by international bestselling authors, top management executives and other influential thought leaders. We hope you'll join us for one of these remarkable events.


  • Capital Markets Institute - The Promise & Perils of Passive Investing

    Speaker Series | Panel Discussion


    A team of academics will present a broad unbiased view of active investing; including a summary of current research, the role for passive investing, benefits and risks of passive investing, and provide background and discussion on the validity of the common ownership issue. The team will present the current data on Canadian shareholdings prepared exclusively for this event. Academic presentations will be followed by a panel discussion bringing together the perspectives of academics and asset managers.

  • National Research Symposium on Financial Literacy / Symposium national sur la recherche en littératie financière

    The National Research Symposium on Financial Literacy brings together Canadian and international thought leaders to share evidence that will inform the implementation of the National Strategy for Financial Literacy. This year, the Symposium theme is Using Research to Improve the Financial Well-Being of Canadians. Presentations and sessions will be organized under the following topics, which directly contribute to overall financial well-being: day-to-day money management, building savings and managing debt.

    Le Symposium national de recherche en littératie financière rassemble des penseurs influents du Canada et d’ailleurs pour qu’ils échangent des données qui permettront d’orienter la mise en œuvre de la Stratégie nationale pour la littératie financière. Cette année, le thème du symposium est Améliorer le bien-être financier des Canadiens grâce à la recherche. Des exposés et des séances seront présentés sur les sujets suivants, lesquels contribuent directement au bien-être financier général : la gestion quotidienne de l’argent, l’augmentation de l’épargne et la gestion des dettes.
