What is the application process and what are the qualification requirements?
The program requires a short online application, found here. Once submitted, our admissions team will reach out with additional questions around work and coaching experience, as well as goals, to identify applicants' suitability.
Ideal participants are people managers, coaches, and leaders responsible for developing people and teams in a professional environment; Executive MBA students; professionals interested in improving their coaching skills. Is there an application deadline or class cap size?
This program is capped at 25 students and applications will close when this is reached. As this is a popular subject, we encourage interested parties to apply as soon as possible.
Does this program provide accreditation with a recognized coaching body?
The Rotman Executive Coaching Certificate (RECC) program has been awarded the status of AC Accredited Certificate in Coach Training from the Association for Coaching (AC).
Rotman Executive Coaching Certificate graduates will have satisfied the training requirements for individual certification* by AC, subject to additional conditions being satisfied (e.g. logging 75+ more hours of paid coaching-client hours after the RECC program has ended); for AC, this includes qualifying for being certified as a: Foundation Coach or Foundation Executive Coach or Coach or Executive Coach or Professional Coach or Professional Executive Coach.
Rotman is an accredited institution by the International Coaching Federation and the Executive Coaching Certificate meets all the requirements of a full Level 1 accredited program.

How is the program delivered and what is the time commitment?
The program is delivered as real-time virtual sessions over the Zoom platform. The session times can be found under "Schedule". The program will require also require self-study and preparation for the accreditation:
- 60 hours of class-based executive coach training
- Coaching models, theories, and practicums
- Virtual, 3-hour classes via Zoom
- 40 hours of self-study coaching assignments
- Reading and reflection learning assignments
- Weekly progress reports and case study capstone
- 20 hours of coaching sessions
- Coaching Rotman MBA students
- Mentored evaluation of AC Coaching Competencies
Can I miss one or more sessions and still complete the program?
No. To fulfill accreditation requirements, all sessions and assessments must be successfully completed.
Will I receive a certificate upon completion of this program?
Participants will receive a Certificate of Professional Achievement from the Rotman School of Management, as well as a certificate from the Association for Coaching indicating their completion of the Rotman Executive Coaching Certificate, which is an Accredited Certificate in Coaching Training.
